Prema Arts Centre

Volunteering, Participation, Donation, Membership, etc.

July, 2014

(Note: If you are considering any volunteer work overseas please stay safe, read our blog disclaimer and consider your personal decisions carefully. Also consider that volunteering with a family in tow, involves far more considerations, compromises and sacrifices, than that of a solo traveller).

Kicking Arts in Gloucestershire!

Whilst in the Cotswolds, we were very impressed by the Prema Arts Centre. We hope you get a chance to visit it or volunteer there.

Prema, near Dursley in the Stroud valleys, offers an affordable day out and their a nice bunch. We enjoyed it there.

Prema is a sandscrit word meaning selfless, caring and sharing.
The Prema Project is a non profit-making Charitable Trust founded in 1978 with the purpose of converting a former Baptist in Uley into a small Community Arts Centre. The Prema Project was launched in 1981.

The purpose of Prema is that through the presence of practicing Artists and Craftsmen to encourage the participation of children and adults in the Arts and Crafts. To promote exhibitions, lectures, musical, visual and theatre events.
